1. Acceptance of terms
By installing, accessing, or using Bexbox, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
These terms apply to the Bexbox Android application, the website at bexbox.com, and any associated cloud storage subscription you purchase.
2. License to use Bexbox
Subject to these terms, Bexbox grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the app on devices you own or control, for your own personal or internal business record-keeping. You may not sublicense, resell, or commercially distribute the app.
You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the app, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits.
3. Your account
You must be at least 13 years old to create a Bexbox account. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at [email protected] if you believe your account has been compromised.
4. Subscriptions and billing
4.1 Where billing happens
All paid subscriptions to Bexbox are sold through Google Play Billing. By subscribing, you accept the Google Play Terms of Service. Bexbox does not charge your card directly and does not receive your full payment instrument.
4.2 Auto-renewal
Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period (typically monthly) until cancelled. The renewal price is the price displayed at the time of renewal. We will notify you of any price change before it takes effect.
4.3 Cancellation
You can cancel your subscription at any time from the Google Play Store under "Subscriptions". Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period. After cancellation you keep access to the paid storage tier until the period ends, and your account then reverts to the Free tier.
4.4 Refunds
Refunds for subscription purchases are governed by Google Play's refund policy. Bexbox does not directly process refunds for purchases made through Google Play.
4.5 Taxes
Listed prices may not include applicable taxes. Where required, taxes are calculated and collected by Google Play.
5. Free tier and storage limits
The Free tier provides up to 50 MB of cloud storage at no cost. Each paid tier provides a higher storage allowance as listed on the pricing page. We reserve the right to refuse to store, or to delete after notice, content that exceeds your allotted storage.
Per-attachment and per-transaction limits may apply (for example, a 2 MB cap per file in current testing). These limits help keep the service fast and inexpensive for everyone and may be adjusted as the service evolves.
6. Your content
You retain all rights to the content you create or upload using Bexbox (contacts, transactions, notes, attachments). You grant Bexbox a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, and process your content solely for the purpose of operating the service for you. We do not claim ownership and we do not use your content to train models or for advertising.
You are responsible for the legality of your content. Do not upload material you do not have the right to store. Do not upload material that infringes someone else's privacy or intellectual property.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Bexbox to:
- break the law or encourage illegal activity;
- store or distribute malware, illegal content, or content that violates someone else's rights;
- harass, threaten, defraud, or impersonate others;
- circumvent storage limits, billing controls, or security mechanisms;
- interfere with the operation of the service, including by automated scraping or load attacks;
- use the app to provide a competing record-keeping service to third parties.
8. Third-party services
Bexbox uses Supabase for backend infrastructure and Google for sign-in, distribution, and payment processing. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for outages, defects, or data loss caused by third-party providers, but we will work in good faith to restore the service when issues occur.
9. Termination
You can terminate your account at any time from Settings inside the app. On termination, your data is deleted as described in our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these terms, abuse the service, or where required by law. Where reasonable, we will give notice and an opportunity to cure first. We may immediately terminate accounts engaged in fraud, security attacks, or illegal activity.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
Bexbox is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or free of errors. Bexbox is not a substitute for professional accounting, legal, or tax advice.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bexbox and its providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or lost goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or related to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid Bexbox in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, and (b) twenty US dollars.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bexbox, its officers, employees, and contractors from any claim, damage, loss, or expense arising from your content, your use of the service, or your breach of these terms.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when we change the service or for legal reasons. We will post the updated terms here and update the "Last updated" date. If a change materially affects your rights, we will notify you in-app or by email before it takes effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought in the competent courts of the Philippines, except where local consumer-protection laws provide a different mandatory venue.
